JOB COACHING EXPLAINED
Job Coaching is where I help your organisation and Neuro Divergent colleague to understand in a business context more about the condition. With this new understanding the Neuro Diverse colleague is in a much better position to make new approaches to their work and enhance performance, whilst your organisation will be be in a better position to ensure the inclusion of the colleague and ensure there is no detriment to their wellbeing and opportunities offered.
I carryout an assessment of your colleagues work environment, processes and approaches to tasks and this is reported back to your organisation once your colleague has approved the report. This document also includes recommendations on new reasonable adjustments, amendments to current adjustments, and the report will also detail those adjustments already applied but not suitable, detailing why they are not suitable for your colleague.
I then help to apply and mould the reasonable adjustments as well as Coaching the employee in techniques and strategies to help them go forward to be independent of the Job Coach.
MY COACHING APPROACH AND STYLE
THE FIRST COUPLE OF SESSIONS ARE A LEARNING EXERCISE FOR ME SO THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR DIFFICULTIES WITHIN YOUR WORK AND YOUR CONDITION
Each session will reflect on the previous and what we discussed, and also how you have been able to acheive any changes and progress. We look at what has gone well and what obstacles are in your way.
With worksheets and other tools we work together for your benefit.
I audit the current reasonable adjustments and recommend others which ensures that they meet your needs, and to help with your equal opportunity and inclusion. I support in many ways including mediating between your employer and colleagues, and helping with disclosure of your condition.
I will be there to motivate you with ideas and action plans with the goal being both independence
Whilst I support and encourage you, it is vitally important that the solutions are yours and not mine. I help you think and acheive the solution, but you do the work.
